On 29-30 October 2018 a training workshop «Legal and information frameworks for sound chemicals management» with a participation of international experts was conducted on the basis of the republican unitary enterprise «Scientific practical centre of hygiene».
The seminar was held in the framework of the international project «Establishment of national systems for sound management of chemicals in selected countries of the East Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia», in which three countries participate - Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan.
The national coordinator of the project in the Republic of Belarus is the Deputy Minister - Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Zhukova. The organization implementing the project in the Republic of Belarus is the republican unitary enterprise «Scientific practical centre of hygiene» of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.
The participation of the country in the project will facilitate the development of a system of sound chemicals management in the Republic of Belarus in accordance with the legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union, create a National Register of Chemicals and Mixtures.
The seminar was attended by 70 people from 10 countries.
The seminar discussed chemicals management issues in the Eurasian Economic Union (TR EAEU 041/2017 «On the safety of chemical products») and the European Union (REACH) and the development of road maps for sound chemicals management.
The issues discussed at the workshop corresponded to the main activities of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus in improving the sound chemicals management in the Republic of Belarus and the creation of the National Register of Chemicals and Mixtures.
