Research activity

Republican unitary enterprise «Scientific Practical Centre of Hygiene» is the only medical scientific organization in the Republic of Belarus that carries out:

  • applied and fundamental research in areas of hygiene, toxicology, occupational pathology;
  • analysis of mechanisms and regularities of environmental factors and objects (physical, chemical, biological) that impact on the human body;
  • development of methodology of sanitary-epidemiological regulation of environmental factors and the evaluation of their isolated, integrated and combined effect for different population groups, including the use of risk analysis methodologies and others;
  • development of research methods, criteria of the toxicity assessment and characteristics of biological influence of potentially dangerous chemicals and biological substances, environmental objects with the use of alternative test models based on the use of molecular and cell biology methods;
  • scientific support of safe management of potentially toxic chemicals, the transition to the Globally Harmonized System of classification and labelling of chemicals, the creation of the National Register of Potentially Toxic Chemicals;
  • basic regulations analysis of indications of nanoparticles toxic effects depending on ways of conducting, identifying organ-targets, ways of sorption, desorption and distribution by in vivo and in vitro methods.

Publication activities

In 2020 scientific publications were published including:

  • 1 monograph (co-authored) published in the Republic of Belarus
  • 3 monographs (co-authored) published abroad
  • 93 articles published in the Republic of Belarus
  • 28 articles published abroad
  • 42 abstracts published in the Republic of Belarus
  • 34 abstracts published abroad
  • 9 electronic publications and 1 module
  • 71 publications in rating editions (domestic and foreign publications).

The periodic scientific publication (recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission for publication of the results of dissertation research), published by the republican unitary enterprise «Scientific Practical Centre of Hygiene» in 2020, was a collection of scientific works «Health and Environment» (issue 30): a total circulation of 115 copies.

Innovative activities

In 2020 received:

• 6 positive decisions to granted patents of the Republic of Belarus;

• 3 patents of the Republic of Belarus for inventions;

• 20 certificates of rationalization propositions.

6 patent applications for inventions have been submitted.
