ServicesInternational scientific practical seminar «Past experience for future possibilities. Actual questions of radiation safety and medicine» was carried out on the basis of the republican unitary enterprise «Scientific Practical Centre of Hygiene» on 17-18 May 2017.
The main goal of the seminar was the discussion of actual scientific practical questions of radiation safety of atomic energy industry and recovery from radiation accidents, the safety of using of medical sources of ionizing radiation.
The seminar was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus with participation of specialists of Federal medical biological agency of Russian Federation and chaired by Stozharov Aleksandr Nikolaevich – the head of department of radiation medicine and ecology of BSMU, DrSc, professor, the chairman of the National Commission on Radiation Protection.
As the result of the seminar it was given the definition of basic methodological problems of scientific research in the field of radiation safety, important points of radiation doses assessment, main international trends in the sphere of ionizing radiation influence on human health.
The discussion of matters of radiation safety of personnel and patients, assessment of radiation doses from medical sources of ionizing radiation with scientists, radiation hygiene physicians, roentgen diagnostics specialists allows to determine necessary guidance documents and issues that should be explored in the field of safety of medical sources of ionizing radiation.
